Since you can add custom EVM networks to the BC Vault, you can also add testnet blockchains as Ethereum Sepolia, Ethereum Holesky....You can then get free test coins on this networks from so called faucets and use them to play around trying various functions available on the wallets.
Ethereum Holesky will work exactly as real Ethereum Blockchain with the exception, that this are (worthless) test coins only available on the Ethereum Holesky blockchain and not on the actual Ethereum blockchain.
EXAMPLE: Adding Ethereum Holesky Testnet
- Add Ethereum Holesky (Chain ID 17000) following the procedure to add Custom EVM Network (don't forget to enable "Include Testnets" on the search field).
For Explorer use this address "https://api-holesky.etherscan.io", so you will also see the transactions. We do recommend you to register a user on the Etherscan portal and create a free API key and copy/paste it into the "API key" field to raise your API call limits.
It is suggested to change the symbol from default "ETH" to "ETH-T" so you will never mix up Testnet and real Ethereum blockchain! - Create a new Wallet (e.g. "My TEST WALLET", "MY TEST WALLET 2") on the newly created Ethereum Holesky Network.
- Find a free ETH Holesky faucet (for example https://holesky-faucet.pk910.de) and use your newly created Test wallet address to receive some free ETH test coins.
- Once you will see test coins in your wallet play around! Create additional test wallet, send funds from one to another, explore the transaction details, try to copy wallet addresses to a blockchain explorer (see below)...don't be afraid to experiment AS LONG AS YOU DO IT ON A TESTNET!
DO NOT USE TEST WALLETS FOR ANYTHING ELSE BUT THE TESTNET. BE CAREFUL NOT TO MIX UP REAL NETWORK AND TEST NETWORK!
